The Beach

Hello Friends! I hope that like old friends we can pick up just where we left off ....oh about 2 weeks ago!

Things have been gloriously busy around here! 2 days ago, we got back from a week long vacation at the beach. We had the most wonderful time EVER!! I cannot tell you how seriously I needed a break from the everyday hustle and bustle of life! Charlotte was an absolute doll face to watch at the beach. The first day there she refused to step off of her towel and on to the sand, which was actually very cute and funny. She seemed as though she couldn't bear the thought of getting dirty or sandy in the least bit! To our surprise and relief, mid-way through the week she warmed up to the beach AND the ocean! In fact, by the end of the week she ADORED the ocean. Seeing my baby playing and enjoying the waves rolling up on her made me just teary eyed and all cheesy inside. I started thinking about how awesome God is and how my little girl was experiencing and delighting in one of God's most beautiful creations! Folks, it just doesn't get better than that!

Stephen and I were tickled to be at the beach! We had not been back to Destin since our wedding almost 2 years ago!! It was so nostalgic for me to walk down the very same path that I had walked in my wedding dress just 2 years ago! Wow how time flies! I am still so thankful that we chose to get married at the beach in Destin. I think it will be so much fun to go there each year and reminisce about our wedding and to one day be able to show Charlotte where her mommy and daddy got married!

Now, that we are back home, it is back to the same old same! I have been home for a day now and have already sewn 2 dresses! I hope to get a lot done this week...including actually getting everything unpacked and put up...I am not very good at this task...it always depresses me! Maybe I can bribe my husband to do it...haha!

I am so thankful to get to see all of my PRECIOUS friends this week!! I did miss them bunches while I was gone and cannot wait to catch up with them this week! I thought I was going to have a quiet week, but to my delight....that is not the case! I am giddy with excitement to see them all!

Well....I better get to my chores...I hope everyone has a terrific Monday!

Here are a few pictures from our beach trip....

Until next time....

L.O.V.E.

My best friend is engaged and is in the process of planning her wedding, which is going to be absolutely fabulous! I feel so priviledged to be helping her along the way, as any MOH would!

Her and her fiance's love is so sweet and their relationship is so blessed because they have Christ in the center of it!

I had the priviledge of taking their engagement pictures and I think they turned out awesome! I wanted to share a few with all of you!

Are they not the cutest??

I love both of them so much and cannot wait until they tie the knot in November!!

Until next time...

A whole bunch of randomness....

Poor little blog! So neglected and mistreated!

Well, folks, I have been out of control busy and unfortunately something has had to give and well I guess this has been it! This is kind of bittersweet for me! God is soo good and has blessed my sewing business beyond my wildest dreams, but that has really eaten up all of my precious time (time Charlotte is asleep that is). So, here I am....better late than never...tired as all get out...in need of a vacation...and feeling so bad for neglecting my bloggy friends!

This is how lazy I am feeling right now....here is a bulleted list of what has been going on at the Langhans house:

*my great aunt whom I have not seen in 15+ years has been here all week visiting and we have been soaking up every little second with her. She is an absolute doll face and our time this week has been so special!
*I had the whole family over for dinner tonight, which forced me to clean the whole house...well force Stephen to have to clean the whole house...but boy is it looking good!!
*I currently have 25 dress orders to fill by July 4th!! Thank you Jesus and Lord give me the perseverance!
*Charlotte is in a phase where she decides to grab things in stores and in her own little toddler way insists that we are not leaving until we get it. So far we have purchased toy boats, a decorative suitcase and a beanie baby. This child is gonna drain my bank account if we keep this up...and yes I know I could say no...but if you heard how high my daughter can scream and if you only knew her persistence!
*Two weeks ago, I started playing singles tennis for my team and have won two weeks in a row! I am loving it because if I lose a game I only have myself to blame and the workout is incredible!!
*I am officially down 40lbs. which is my half way point for my weight loss goal! I am kind of at a stand still but hope to kick it up a notch starting tomorrow!

And for the big announcement......drum roll please........

I FINALLY SAVED UP ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY AN EMBROIDERY MACHINE AND IT IS SOOO FABULOUS! I cannot tell you how giddy I am over this machine. I swear I just want to carry it everywhere with me and just look at it!

Soooooo.....if anyone out there needs any monogramming done or any appliqued designs...please let me know! I would be tickled to help you out!!

And lastly...if you are interested in purchasing any Sugar Britches Kids originals...please check out www.sugarbritcheskids.etsy.com! I have several things listed in my shop and I also take custom orders to fit exactly what you want or have in mind!

Thank you for letting me be so random and scattered in this post!

Until next time.....

What's going on....

Hello to All!

I think it has been weeks since I actually posted and updated everyone with Langhans' happenings. So...here goes...

I have been sewing my little heart out! Praise the Lord! Since I started Sugar Britches Kids about 2 months ago, God has blessed my business tremendously! I am currently working on filling 15 orders!!!! God really is soo good and I owe all the credit to Him! I pray that He will continue to grow my business in an awesome way! Who knows...maybe one day you will see Sugar Britches Kids in upscale boutiques!

I am still working hard to lose weight! It is soo easy to put it on but is SUPER DUPER hard to take it off! I am currently down 40lbs which is half way to my goal! WoopWoop! I am actually able to wear some of my old clothes which is a blessing in more ways than one! I am desperately trying to get another 10 lbs off before July when we go to the beach!!!

Charlotte is a ball of pure joy! Watching her grow and learn is unbelievable! She is WAY TO smart for her own good! The other day, she was walking around our living room with her pretend flip cell phone and was talking it up to someone. She was walking around swaying her hips and would stop and cock her hip out to one side while she blabbed on (in baby talk) to someone. Every once in a while, she would close the phone and say "bye-bye". Now the best part of this story is that no one taught my child to do this! She must have seen me walking around talking on the cell phone and decided to copy me. What a testament to the fact that children soak up everything we do! What a funny reminder and eye opener this was!

Today, I am off to probably get my booty kicked in tennis. I am actually playing singles today, which for me is something I haven't done since high school. I am so good at doubles and I know doubles strategies like a champ, but singles just scares me. At least I know that win or lose, I am going to get a good work out!!

I hope that all of you have been enjoying Summer and I hope that you have a great Sunday afternoon!!

Just because no post would be complete without a picture of my baby...here she is modeling a dress I sold to a Sugar Britches Kids customer...

Until next time...
