Wordless Wednesday

How bout' saving a little money!?!
About a month ago, I started picking up Christmas presents here and there to get a jump start this year. I am REALLLLLY REALLLLY understanding why so many of you do this! I really feel like starting early like this enables me to really give thoughtful and nice gifts and it is less stressful and it does not hurt my pocketbook as bad as if I wait till December to try and do it all. I really encourage those of you who haven't started yet, to start now! It really is worth it! Plus....I ADORE Christmas and this seems to stretch it out even longer! :)
Anyways....
Today, I bought a few Christmas presents at www.restaurant.com. Y'all this website is AMAZING! Basically, you purchase restaurant gift certificates in either $10 or $25 amounts, but the good part is...they are discounted!! PLUS....if you use this months coupon code "PUMPKIN" you get an additional 70% off!!!!!!!! CRAZY!
Here is an example:
I knew I wanted to go to an upscale restaurant tomorrow night for my friend's birthday. So, I bought a $25 gift certificate. The price for the gift certificate was $15 but I used the coupon code and got the certificate for $4.50!! So....I will get a $50 meal for $4.50 + gratuity and tax!
After you purchase the gift certificate, you print it on the spot at your printer! What an awesome gift to give someone!! You could print the certificate and wrap it up at Christmas or for any gift!
Or you could put the certificate in an envelope and put it in a basket and add other stuff to give the gift of a "parent's night out" or "girls night out" ...ect...ect...
Happy Shopping!!
Until next time...

Life lately
This is the food table at the surprise shower I helped to throw this week for a precious friend who is expecting her 4th baby in a few short weeks! The banner in the background was my first attempt at making a pendant banner out of paper and ribbons. I had so much fun making it and was so excited when the guest of honor requested it to take home and put in her nursery!
Another big first this week was taking my baby to get her toenails painted for the first time! We went with two of our friends to get their nails painted too. I really had no idea how Charlotte Rose would act, because she never sits still long enough to do something like this, but to my surprise...she actually sat there and did great! She really liked watching her toes get painted. When we went out later that day, she kept holding her toes up to strangers and telling them to look at her "prebbies". I was so excited to watch how excited she was to have her toes painted, because I really thought that the whole experience would really just be for my amusement.Thursday, October 1, 2009
The 1st day of my favorite month!!

Here are a few pictures of some of my favorite fall things:

I adore going to the apple orchards in North Georgia! We go every year and pick fresh apples, get fresh homemade apple cider and of course take lots of pictures! This year I have made the cutest apple dress for Charlotte Rose to wear to the orchards! To see it, a picture of it is in my etsy shop!
Burt's Pumpkin Farm is my most favorite place in the world to go during fall! We go every single year and ride the hay ride and pick out pumpkins! I have pictures of Charlotte there from last year, her 1st Halloween, and hope to have pictures of her there every year!
Speaking of pumpkins...my husband is a NUT about my pumpkin pie! Last year, I probably made 6 pumpkin pies the month of October for him! I am sure the same will hold true this year!

I also adore decorating my home for fall. I love what these people have done with their homes:

Thank you Lord for the wonderful month of October and all of the wonderful sights, scents and good eats you provide in the Fall!
I hope that all of you will slow down this month and soak in God's handiwork all around you!
Until next time...
